WebApr 12, 2024 · The Opti-Lube was not the highest in the test mentioned above. It was #2, #1 was 2% REG SoyPower bio-diesel. As mentioned the test is dated, it was done in 2007 and it only tested lubricity. No doubt that XPD is an excellent lubricity additive. WebThe XPD itself is a winner, tested at multiple labs and always has the best ratings for lubricity and cetane performance which are the only two things you and your diesel need to be concerned with, well except in the winter up North you need some anti-gel as well. WebApr 14, 2010 · Truck gets much better fuel economy than my last truck (Dodge) I started using it because of the increase lubrication of the Opti-Lube XPD, Best mileage I've logged is 24 mpg on a 300 mile cruise keeping the DMAX around 70 mph....Vehicle mostly stock...including the tires.... I deciding it looked like it was worth it, so I splurged and spent $219 on a 5 gallon pale of XPD Optilube. I had read of countless people claiming 1-3 MPG's with this stuff, as well as numerous other benefits. I have used it religiously for the last 4000 miles in the recommended 256:1 ratio.

I ran it for 3 hours tonight and it seems like a different tractor.
