WebMay 13, 2016 · If you sister the joists, make sure you put in a spacer to allow air flow between the two boards. Or do not sister and just install another joist nearby. Not pretty layoutwise from the bottom, but not really noticeable from the top for the layman. It doesn't matter where along the joist the come-along is placed. The rings will accept up to a 3/8" bolt so it's also acceptable to through bolt the rings.
